A different kind of charging operator

EV-EL is an independent Danish charging operator, set up as a privately owned company. The ambition is simple: charging should be easy, transparent and available where people actually need it.

Charging with the smallest possible footprint

To offer EV charging that affects the environment as little as possible, where drivers need it. Charging should be transparent and easy, and what it costs easy to understand.

The lowest CO₂ footprint, the most transparency

To move drivers from charging that pollutes more to fast charging with the largest possible share of renewables — and to make prices and terms easy to understand.

We don't believe the future of charging is only about the most chargers or the most power. It is also about running charging simply and efficiently, making prices and terms easy to understand, and giving drivers a real reason to charge when the grid is less busy. That is the idea behind Fair 'n' Share.

Charging with common sense

Transport and charging leave a footprint. That is why EV-EL does not promise that charging has zero environmental impact. Instead, we actively focus on where our power comes from, how charging can be shifted away from peak hours, and how we contribute to expanding forests in Denmark.

We choose Danish wind energy

EV-EL's power purchases are based on power from Danish wind turbines. It is our way of supporting Danish wind energy and the ongoing transition of the energy system. The physical power in the charger comes from the shared grid, so it is made up of the energy mix in the grid at that moment.

Planting EV-EL's climate forest

New forest with lasting value

EV-EL contributes to planting climate forests in Denmark. The trees take up CO₂ as they grow, and the forest creates new green areas. Climate forests are no excuse to use more energy — it is an extra contribution on top of our focus on wind energy, efficient operation and charging outside peak hours.

When you charge at EV-EL

  • EV-EL supports the purchase of power from Danish wind turbines
  • EV-EL contributes to planting climate forests
  • Fair 'n' Share can reward charging outside peak hours
  • You get fast charging at up to 240 kW

The four UN Sustainable Development Goals EV-EL works for

EV-EL wants to help make the environmental and climate impact of transport as small as possible, and so contribute to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

  1. Global Goal 7: Affordable and clean energy

Founded in 2021 — family-owned

EV-EL ApS was founded in the summer of 2021 as a privately owned, independent Danish company that runs a charging operator business. Behind it is the founder Thomas Boesen, who has co-founded several companies in medicinal chemistry and biotech.

When EV-EL started, he brought his two nieces, two nephews, his daughter and his son in as co-owners. They help set the company's goals and strategy.

The company has no employees. For problems with charging, use the contact details on the charger and Spirii's customer service, which answers around the clock.

Ideas, complaints or praise?

We are a small company, and we read everything. Write to us at [email protected] — or call Spirii's customer service if it's urgent at the charger.
